The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified 19-year-old Ken Dion Dilworth of Fort Wayne as the victim in a tragic crash that occurred early Monday morning, leaving family members, friends, and the community mourning the devastating loss of a young life.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department, the fatal collision happened near the intersection of South Clinton Street and McKinnie Avenue at approximately 4:30 a.m. Witnesses reportedly told investigators that two vehicles were allegedly racing when one of the cars ran a red light and collided head-on with a box truck.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames, with the driver trapped inside. Despite rapid response efforts by first responders, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene due to the severity of the crash.
Authorities later confirmed the victim as Ken Dion Dilworth. The Allen County Coroner’s Office ruled his death accidental, marking the 13th traffic-related fatality in Allen County this year.
